You don't need to bring anything; Elise will get the materials and guide you through the process. We hope to see you there! Elise has a Textiles, Merchandise & Design degree from the University of Rhode Island. She has always loved the "design your own jewelry" approach and tries to preserve that experience. Join us for a night of DIY fun where each participant will make various decoupage oyster shell products. Each participant will be painting and assembling various trinket dishes and oyster shell ornaments- 4 in total. This class is meant for beginners. All tools, instructions, and materials will be waiting for you when you arrive. A $20 material fee is to be paid in cash on the night of your class. Melissa started her jewelry business, Gem Lounge Jewelry, in 2009 and is a proud 8th-generation Mainer, having grown up in southern Maine before attending college in New Orleans. Upon graduation, Ms. Evans moved back to New England, eventually settling back in her beloved state of Maine and finding inspiration for her creations all around. There are four classes in all, one each week on Zoom. Bring a ukulele, your sense of humor, passion for music, and curiosity about playing. Once you master the basics, you won't want to stop. Will you be recruited to perform at Carnegie Hall? Well, not right away. But, as the saying goes, 'The best player isn't the person who can pick or strum the most notes. It isn't the person with the greatest technical skill. It's the person who can touch the most hearts.' So grab a uke, you don't need to read music - sign up, tune up and show up. CPR Session III

The CPR class includes adult, child, and infant CPR and AED use, adult, child, and infant choking, and how and when to call emergency services. The course cost includes the use of the manikins, video, certified instructor, practical components, and a certificate of completion. The video portion has been shortened, and the practical time has been increased to ensure everyone has enough time to gain confidence in their skills. This class is taught to the standards established by the American Heart Association. The workbook is not included in this class. If you would like a workbook, please indicate on your registration form (one workbook covers CPR and first aid). The cost is $10 for the book, payable to the instructor.

Handbuilding (Beginner/Intermediate) Session III

This class will be an introduction to hand-building with clay! In these 7-week sessions, you will learn to make both functional and sculptural pieces, ranging from cups, platters, and vessels to more sculptural work like wall pockets, garden gnomes, and funky planters…the possibilities are endless! We will explore coiling, slab building, molds, and more. We will also focus time on learning different surfacing and glazing techniques to create unique textures and designs. The small class size allows for a fun, relaxed, and collaborative learning environment for people with all experience levels. Instructor: Piper Smith. All classes are held at the Art and Nature Center at Tannery Brook.

Session III: 7 classes, Mondays, 4/28-6/16 (no class on 5/26), 6:00pm-8:00pm, $200

Add to the online listing: Additional, optional work time will be offered for open studio members and current students on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays between 10 am and 1 pm and Fridays from 5pm-8pm. This extra, optional work time is first come, first serve for available space. The studio will be closed on federal holidays unless otherwise specified.
