Deciding to get the equivalent of your high school diploma is a big step. At Gorham Adult Education we try to make it as easy as possible to meet your goal.
If you are interested in HiSET® please contact us at 222-1095.
Here are some additional questions that most people have about the HiSET®
What is the HiSET®?
The HiSET® (the High School Equivalency Test) exam is a new high school equivalency testing program that will help you take the next step toward a college degree or a rewarding career. Educational Testing Service (ETS) and the Iowa Testing Programs recently created the HiSET program to provide you with a more affordable, more accessible alternative to other high school equivalency tests. It's another way for you to get the credentials you need to continue your education or to succeed in the workplace.
What if I need tutoring?
Gorham Adult Education teachers are available for tutoring. Once you have taken a few pre-tests and we have a better understanding of the type of tutoring you need, a tutoring schedule will be created. There is no charge for tutoring.
How long will it take to get my HiSET®
This depends on your current educational level and how much time you have to study.
Will I be able to go to college with a HiSET®
Yes! Colleges and universities accept the HiSET® as the equivalent of a high school diploma.
What if I need to stop studying for a little while, can I come back at any time?
Yes. If you do need to stop studying for a certain amount of time, please let us know. You are welcome to come back at any time.
How old to I have to be to take the HiSET®
You must be 18 to take the HiSET® tests.
Is there a charge for the testing or for materials?
There is no charge for the HiSET® tests. We do ask that you do not write in any books that we give you and that you return them for use by other students.
